The WHO launched Florence, its first virtual health worker based on artificial intelligence

The World Health Organisation developed in cooperation with the Qatar Ministry of Health its first virtual health worker, Florence. It uses artificial intelligence (AI) to interact with users and provides guidance in 7 languages on how to have a healthy lifestyle. Florence can talk about several topics including mental health, stress management, alcohol, tobacco and physical inactivity. Since the pandemic it has also helped to fight misinformation around COVID-19 and vaccines.

EPR developed a paper on artificial intelligence and its impact on service provision to people with disabilities, gathering good practices in using AI in inclusive ways.
