AI and New Technologies for Inclusion: EPR Annual Conference 2024 Report

The accessible and ethical use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in services for people with disabilities has long been on EPR’s ‘radar’, with efforts to ensure our community can harness the full benefits of the technology. Against the backdrop of rapid developments in both EU regulatory frameworks and technological advancements, EPR hosted its Annual Conference 2024 on the topic of “AI and New Technologies for Inclusion: Leaving no one behind in the digital transition“.

The Conference brought together EPR community of members, partners and policy makers to learn from each other and exchange ideas on how we can “future-proof” services and safely utilise the increasing opportunities from technological advances in AI and assistive technologies. Leading experts in the field examined various different concepts – from how a co-design and co-creation approach can result in stronger adoption of new AI tools, to the associated risks we need to be aware of and prepared for.
