DUB-IN Project: The transformative Power of my Voice

In January 2022, the Erasmus+ funded project ‘DUB-IN: The transformative Power of my Voice’ was kicked off. The project is coordinated by the Spanish EPR member, INTRAS Foundation, in partnership with five other organisations: EKP&PSY (Greece), Promente (Austria), NKUA (Greece), Smashing Times (Ireland) and EPR (Belgium) itself . The project will run for two years.

DUB IN project aims to develop social and communication skills of people with psychosocial disabilities using dubbing. Other objectives of the project are to:

  1. Design a training model that provides innovative, attractive and necessary intervention tools to improve social and communication skills.
  2. Develop a unique training program, based on dubbing and the real social/ communication needs of people with psychosocial disabilities.
  3. Increase the representation of people with psychosocial disabilities as voice actors

The kick-off meeting of the project took place in Linz, Austria, hosted by Pro Mente on April 28th & 29th. The meeting started with an overview of the project and its activities, followed by a review on the work plan to achieve the two project results: an app and a training course. EPR presented the results of a desk research on main challenges faced by persons with psychosocial disability and the project’s communication and dissemination strategy.

In June 2022, the project released the first issue of the DUB-IN’s newsletter. The newsletter is available in three languages (English, Spanish and Greek) and it introduces the reader into the aims of the project, the power of dubbing, and more information about the project partners.
