Pathways to Community Inclusion

EPR is organising two online 2-hour meetings named Pathways to Community Inclusion to discuss the transition to community based services and independent living. The first is scheduled for 24th September between 10am-12pm and the other will be later in November/December.

At the first meeting in September, we will be pleased to offer EPR members an exclusive chance to meet online with representatives of the UN Secretariat of the CRPD Committee who will join us in a discussion to present the UN Guidelines on deinstitutionalization, including in emergencies published in 2022. This is a unique opportunity to engage with external experts in conversations around how such policy frameworks may impact your services at a time where the transition from institutionalised settings towards community based care is evermore central.

Attendance to the first meeting also implies commitment to a second meeting in autumn, where we will analyse the upcoming European Commission Disability Strategy flagship initiative “Guidance on Independent Living and Inclusion in the Community” together with representatives from DG EMPL.
