Smoking cessation support group at SIVA

As smoking is one of the many causes of cardiovascular and other internal diseases, SIVA has launched a support group for its clients who want to quit smoking. The initiative is developed as a consecutive seven-meeting programme to help understand the physical and psychological aspects of addiction and to help learn new skills to deal with the urge to smoke.

During the programme, participants will understand how to cope with their unhealthy habits, and how to overcome emotional difficulties that lead to addiction. In a supportive way, participants learn healthier habits such as relaxation, thought diversion and other skills.

The support group is led by a clinical psychologist with working experience with addicted people and experience in leading support groups for quitters.
