EPR Active Inclusion of Young People with Disabilities or Health Problems (AI)

Training Seminar, 30 - 31 May 2011, Brussels

On the 30th and 31st of May 2011, 7 EPR member organisations were represented at the training seminar on Active Inclusion of young people with disabilities or health problems.

The participants were able to reflect on the meaning of Active Inclusion and to explore the latest policy frameworks and national programmes, which incorporates this. The learners analysed the extent in which the practice in delivering joined up services meet the criteria for good practice in Active Inclusion, and identified the challenges faced by providers of services to people with disabilities. On the basis of case studies, discussions and group exercises, they could comprehend successful strategies at the organisational level, to overcome these challenges.

The seminar was built upon research carried out on behalf of the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions into Active Inclusion approaches in 6 EU Member States: Denmark, The Netherlands, Spain, Poland, Finland and the UK.
